The police in our country only appeared after 1902. Although the Qing government imitated the Eastern and Western countries to establish police agencies, but the police did not have uniform clothing. In 1908, the 34th year of Guangxu, there was a uniform national police uniform. Since the founding of New China, our country’s police uniform has undergone many reforms, from 49, 55, 58, 66, 72, 83, 89 to the 99 currently used. The quality and variety of products have been improved and increased to varying degrees.
1. Large-scale development of synthetic fiber fabrics
In the early days of the founding of New China, the quality of police clothing for public security officers was very low. The fabric of the clothing was white plain cloth dyed with yellow explosives. With the improvement of the country's economic situation and the development of chemical fiber technology, the selection and quality of police uniform fabrics are gradually enriched and improved. In the early 1960s, through the introduction of Japanese equipment, my country built a vinylon synthetic fiber factory with a scale of 10,000 tons in Beijing. Its completion marks the beginning of a period of large-scale development of synthetic fibers in China. With the continuous improvement of the level of science and technology, textiles made of other synthetic fiber varieties such as polyester, polypropylene, acrylic, polyvinyl chloride fiber, and polyvinyl fluoride fiber appeared on the market at that time.
2. "Qingliang" became the darling of the 1970s
The advancement of science and technology is reflected in the clothing of Chinese people. In the past, the textiles that people wear, wear, spread, and cover are all cotton products. With the influx of chemical fiber products, a kind of fabric called "Qingliang" became the darling of China's era in the 1970s.
"Qingliang" is a polyester fabric, which is durable and wide without wrinkles. The clothes made of "Xinliang" are durable, easy to wash and dry, bright in color, and not easy to deform. In our opinion, it is not comfortable to wear pure fiber fabrics. Cotton fabrics will be more comfortable to wear. However, people of that era had very different ideas from those of today. They believed that "Qingliang" was more advanced than cotton and was a symbol of timeliness. The 72-style police uniform of our country changed from the original twill cloth to the khaki fabric of polyester, nylon and cotton blended in winter, and the poplin of polyester, nylon and cotton blended in summer. At the beginning of 1980, the fabric was changed to "Qingliang".
Third, the improvement of the quality of police uniform fabrics
With the development of the times, the quality of our police uniform fabrics has been improved again. The 83-style police uniform is made of polyester-cotton blended fabric, and the 89-style police uniform is changed from polyester-cotton fabric to purified fiber fabric. The single coat is made of wool-like fabric, the overall is wool-like breeches, the cotton-padded jacket is made of taffeta fabric, and the coat is made of wool-like gabardine.
The nine-nine style police uniform fabrics mainly use high-tech polyester filament products called military port cloth, chemical fiber wool-like gabardine and rain-proof and breathable coated fabrics. In order to improve the quality of police uniform fabrics, the police uniforms in some economically developed areas of our country mainly use blended wool with 30% wool and 70% polyester or 50% wool and 50% polyester.
Fourth, the obvious shortcomings of chemical fiber fabrics
The fabric of the police multifunctional clothing is waterproof and moisture-permeable composite fabric. The base fabric is made of polyester semi-dull and low-elastic yarns, and the structure is a high-density fabric with two upper, two lower right twill weaves, and the composite film is a thermoplastic polyurethane film. This fabric is waterproof and warm. However, the obvious disadvantage of polyester and other chemical fibers as materials for police uniforms is that it feels stuffy and easy to generate static electricity. Police uniforms are more likely to absorb dust, entangle the body, strike hands, irritate the skin, etc. In addition to affecting the majestic image of the police, this kind of police uniform is worn It will also be very uncomfortable, which is not conducive to the normal work of the police.
Although the use function of professional clothing is extremely important, it is only a small part of the functions that this clothing can provide. Appropriate clothing can generate and enhance people’s sense of social identity and self-esteem. If clothing is more functional, the wearer’s sense of happiness and self-confidence will increase, which will have a multiplier effect at work.
